Birthdays and Lamenting

One of my earliest memories is that of the magical Chuck E. Cheese's. Pac Man, Galaga, Digger, and other greasy buttoned action arcade games to mash. Or sitting at the table, face stuffed with pepperoni pizza (funny how it tastes like cardboard now), and watching with wonder as those animatronic puppets sang "They Say it's your Birthday" right to you. To You! Then you could take a "recording" of it home (a 7" with your name written on it) and relive the memory any damn time you felt like it. THAT was what birthdays were all about

What happens to that magic? Is it just a childhood trait that starts to vanish with each passing year???

Well, at any rate. Happy Birthday to me! Anyone have some spontaneous ideas how to spend my last year under 30?

  • Jason;
    Happy Birthday to You. You can make your last year before 30 anything you want it to be. The magic never goes away, it only gets clouded with responsibilities and pressures of life. The magic is always there. The excitement and pleasure you are receiving from allowing our ears the sheer pleasure of your finds is a magical thing to me. You will always be full of magical wonder because of who you are, it doesn't matter really what you do!
