IndieFeed, Adam Curry, and the Podcasting Revolution

This post is going to be a bit on the long side, so anyone afflicted with ADD should run for their lives! :-)

A few days back I gleefully teamed up with Chris over at IndieFeed to help maintain the Alt/Modern Rock channel as well as promote the shit out of the miraculous things he's doing with the project. Yesterday I wrote Adam Curry a long winded email, asking for his help. I figured with his backing, a Shout-out to IndieFeed, and maybe even the reading of my email over the daily source code (he must have at least 1,000 listeners), it would put things quickly in motion.

But it was also a longshot. The sheer amount of media Adam gets delivered to him daily in the form of posts, emails, audio comments, etc., must be overwhelming...

Despite the longshot, today on the Daily Source Code he read the email and went into some detail about the nature of IndieFeed (as well as a kick ass comment about my show!) So, THANK YOU MR. CURRY!!!

Now this is the part where I play the recruiter...
The IndieFeed podcast has great potential to promote non-RIAA bands. Single-serving songs preceeded by a quick and slick introduction from Chris (and soon myself and others.)
If you have a passion for independent music of any genre and would like to help us with this, please drop myself or Chris an email or audio comment.
Chris: info@indiefeed.com
Jason: jasonevangelho@gmail.com

It can be a great local band you'd like to see gain more exposure, or any other NON-RIAA band who you feel is the next great sound. Even if you don't want to be directly involved by managing an IndieFeed channel, shoot me an Mp3 with the band's URL. Part of my role, as suggested by Adam Curry, will be to cross-feature songs from IndieFeed on Hardcore Insomnia Radio. After all, for a band to be noticed, they should be featured on more than one Podcast, just like Radio.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, looking forward to hearing from ya;
J.
