Bob&AJ: The one where I co-hosted

Just co-hosted the Bob and AJ show via Skype, and it was an absolute riot. Some beers and a bunch of spontaneity, the true magic of podcasting. Catch their show this Sunday and hear me:
  • Demonstrate utter lack of Canadian knowledge
  • Make Deniz Rudin jealous
  • Rant about why I could care less about PodcastAlley votes
  • & many more various embarassments!
Bob, AJ: I had a blast...

Tasty Rumors...

Rumor has it that Insomnia Radio will be podcasting the Chance CD Release Party in it's entirety. Rumor also has it that I.R will be bringing you full length concerts from Now is Now, The Cool Waters Band, Spiraling, Lorenzo's Music, and Ten Story Relapse. However, these cannot be confirmed at this time.

Please stand by. . . .

A mixtape, if you will, showcasing the very best of Indiefeed from it's humble beginnings in October through the present. Greatest hits for some, an overload of kick ass new music for others. A genre bending 65 minutes of quality indie tunes.
(And another filesize further alienating the dial up community)

Chance: 6-10

I rarely find myself looking forward to CD's. But receiving this one in the mail 5 minutes before work, I was kicking & screaming at the prospect of having to wait another 9 hours to listen. The new Chance disc is a collection of songs, & those songs are events. If you like Rock & Roll, drop 5 bucks on this. Your ears will thank you.

AMP on

AMP now has it's own node on the directory :-)

Setting it Straight

Thanks to Rob Funk for pointing out a rather large mistake from IRAtlanta: Magnapop's newest release is Mouthfeel, not Hotboxing. (However, both albums come highly recommended...)

Maximum PC: Listen to the Podcasts

I was overcome with surprise when I tore open my copy this morning. In a feature entitled "How To...Stream Net Radio To Your Mp3 Player" (April 2005), Will Smith opens up the story with podcasting, giving his readers a brief tutorial.

What's better than podcasting being mentioned in a magazine read by millions of tech savvy individuals who will adopt podcasting in a heartbeat? How about:
  • Including iPodder on the bundled CD
  • Including Insomnia Radio & Indiefeed among their Top 5 Favorites! Hell yea!
Maximum PC has always rocked, and now they have my permanent subscription ;-)
Note to new readers/listeners: We actually do TWO shows here: Insomnia Radio is our regular show, and "Double Shots" is a 4 song journey into the mellow side of Insomnia Radio. If you're hearing Double Shots and it's not your style, stay tuned...

The Mac Mini: Off my list

Many Podcasters, myself included, have been salivating over the Mac Mini since it's release. Affordable, portable, sexy. Perfect podcast production machine right?

Credit CC Chapman for bringing to my attention, the sadly obvious and glaring OMISSION of an audio in jack. That's right. Forget about it. Nice one, apple. What, couldn't afford that extra 1/4 inch of space in the sound card???

At least it's one toy I can scratch OFF my list...

Double Shots: Round 5

Time for Round 5: Lazy hosting duties, but amazing music.
Two bands, two tracks each.
Beautiful, gutwrenching, haunting masterpieces from:

Tell Me It's Snowing
Swan Diving
--Taken from the full length "Concorde"

Shaun Eagle:
Foam of Mouth
--From the album "You Killed Me"

Superburst Mixtape!

Perhaps I've been living in a cave. Perhaps I've just been too busy. But it came to my attention today (finally) that Warren Ellis is podcasting. AND he's a Libsyn'er.

His show is the Superburst Mixtape, and it is an explosive, edgy, truly indie collection of music, spoken word, whatever he's loving at the moment. Highly recommended. So much so, that you should seriously just skip my show this week and catch up on his. GO GO....

Quietly Winding Up

Behind the scenes, I'm quietly preparing to assault your ears once again...

With a few helpful nudges from Hilary, I've been in contact with over 50 bands from Atlanta.
The next episode of Insomnia Radio will be a local spotlight on the bristling, inspired music scene brewing there.
From Punk to Americana to Hip-Hop, I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality music coming my way, and plan on sharing it with you within the next 2 weeks.

DoubleShots: Round 4 will see the light by the end of the week.

Remember Lorenzo's Music? A ridiculously talented songwriter named Christopher Marty, stole Lorenzo's rhythm section and wrote a masterpiece of an album. And we're going to unveil it on Insomnia Radio as soon as possible...

So, forgive the silence, and look forward to the future...
Thanks for sticking around gang.

And if you have an extra click to spare, please vote for the show on Podcast Alley. Votes are now once a month, which means I won't be hassling you quite as often ;-)
